How parlay payouts work

Each leg's decimal odds are multiplied together. A 3-leg parlay at −110, +130, and −150 equals 1.91 × 2.30 × 1.67 ≈ 7.34. A $20 stake at 7.34 returns about $146.80, including stake.

Each added leg roughly doubles the potential payout — but also halves your chance of winning. The math compounds rapidly: a 5-leg parlay at −110 each pays roughly +2280 but cashes only about 4% of the time.

Three smart parlay habits

  • Cap at 2-4 legs. Beyond that, the house edge compounds against you sharply.
  • Avoid stacking heavy favorites. A four-team −300 parlay barely moves the payout while compounding losing risk.
  • Use parlay insurance promos. Many Missouri sportsbooks refund parlays that lose by one leg — claim those when available.
